The virtues of the month of Muharram....The
Islaamic year begins with Muharram ul Haraam, the first month of the
Hijri calendar which teaches us lessons of admonition, good counseling,
knowledge of Allaah Subhaanuhu Wa Ta'aalaa, sacrifice, selflessness, patience and seeking the pleasure of All Knowing All Mighty Allaah Ta’aalaa, and His Beloved Prophet Sayyidinaa Muhammad Rasulullaah [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] and his noble family the Ahl-e-Baiet.The sacred month of Muharram is a blessed and important month. The word "Muharram" means "Forbidden." Even
before the advent of Islaam, this month was always known as a sacred
holy month in which all unlawful acts were forbidden, prominently the
shedding of blood.
"Verily, the number of months with Allaah is twelve months [in a year], so it was ordained by Allaah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them, four are sacred. That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein..."....
